Our Travels
(and other activites)
We Love to Travel!
“To travel is to live!” -Hans Christian Anderson
We love to travel especially to beaches! We love snorkeling and relaxing on the beach reading a good book. We’ve been to many places: Mexico; Roatan, Honduras; Grand Cayman; U.S. Virgin Islands; Belize; and Hawai’i.
We also love camping! We love going to Yellowstone, Zion National Park, Arches, Bryce Canyon, and other destinations around Utah. Someday, we hope to buy a camper. Every year we go with Rob’s family to Lake Powell where they have a houseboat. We love to take day trips in a speedboat, water-ski, hike, and sit at a campfire at night. It’s fun seeing all the children having fun with their cousins!
Favorite Memories
- When we went to Yellowstone, we were planning to camp within the park. However, construction and a wildfire blocked the road to our campsite! It was labor day weekend and we had to scramble to find a campsite. Everything was booked! Luckily, we found an out of the way camping spot right next to a beautiful lake. We loved it and would definitely go back!
- During our honeymoon, we had a candlelight dinner on a moonlit beach in Mexico.
- At Yellowstone, we saw bison, elk, hawks, bears, deer, and foxes.
- Snorkeling at Trunk Bay in St. John’s! There was an amazing snorkel trail and Rob saw reef sharks!
- When we went to Bryce Canyon, we were camping in April and it started snowing during the night. Janelle thought this was pretty awesome because she had never camped in the snow.
- At arches, we hiked the Devil’s Loop primitive trail. It was a 7 mile hike and was amazing because we hiked to several arches, saw the flora an fauna, and hiked along ridges and cliffs. Afterwards, we ate Mexican food at a local restaurant.
- In 2019 we bought tickets to see James Taylor in concert. The concert was cancelled because of the pandemic. We were able to attend after waiting almost 2 years! The concert was unforgettable and one of the best we’ve attended.
Oh, the places you'll go!
