Meet Jackson

Jackson

“Dogs leave paw prints on our hearts.”

Jackson is our Chihuahua/Terrier mix. he is 7 years old and weighs 5 lbs. He became part of our family when we lived in Hawaii. Our home was located in a rural part of the island.  Every time we went to town, we’d go to the pet store to admire the animals.  One day, there was one little guy…the last puppy of his litter. We didn’t have any intentions to buy a puppy, but Rob asked to hold him. The store let us play with him and Rob named him Jackson.  The moment Rob named him, we knew we were going home with a puppy!

Favorite Memories

  •  When we lived with Rob’s parents, Jackson would stay in the kitchen while we were gone.  He would always run to greet us when we returned home.  One Sunday, we came home and he didn’t come see us.  We walked into the kitchen and noticed him standing on the kitchen table.  He had jumped up bins and boxes to the top of the table and then couldn’t climb down!  He just waited patiently for someone to come home and rescue him.
  • One evening Rob went to Ruth Chris Steakhouse for work.  He brought home leftovers.  The food was put in the fridge for the next day.  After work the next day, Janelle was looking forward to the leftovers.  She went to the kitchen and the fridge was open. Jackson had pulled out the steak and ate it!  It’s a joke in our family that Jackson got to try Ruth Chris steak before Janelle!
  • When we lived Hawaii, Jackson would go to the beach with us! He loved running in the sand and swimming in the little streams that ran into the ocean!  He has his own little doggie lifejacket.
  • When we moved into our house.  While we were gone during the day, we kept him in the bathroom.  One day when we returned home, we heard him barking at the front door which didn’t make any sense because the bathroom was on the other side of the house.  He had chewed through his plastic gate and had been roaming his new house!
